Mellan sjöarna Läckö slott

Between Vänern and Vättern

With Kronocamping Lidköping and Gränna Camping as starting points for our visit to Västergötland and Visingsö, we are well set to get the most out of our visit. We put our foot to the floor on Sweden’s longest go-kart track and pedal our way on a cycle round Lake Vättern’s biggest island, Visingsö.

Go-kart at Lidköpings motorsportarena

If you are tired of being overtaken on the road in your caravan or motorhome, this is your chance for revenge. At Lidköping’s motorsport arena you’ll find Sweden’s longest go-kart track, a whole 1250 metres. It is a difficult and challenging track with many curves, and it is highly regarded internationally.

Visingsö på cykel

Visingsö on two wheels

The easiest and maybe nicest way to discover Vättern’s biggest island, Visingsö, is by cycle. If you haven’t brought your own, you can hire one on location. The island is packed with sights, including Näs castle ruins – the remains of Sweden’s first royal castle.

Kronocamp Lidköping
KronoCamp Lidköping

Close to refreshing swimming in the nearby lake as well as the centre of Lidköping, you can spend your free time as you like. Via the campsite’s cycleway and footpath that runs along the water you can explore the nice surroundings, or challenge your friends to a round of mini-golf.

Gränna Camping
Grännas Camping

Gränna Camping was previously called Grännastrandens Camping. It has almost 40 cottages and approx. 450 pitches – all on grass. The location by the water and sandy beach is of course appealing, but so is the fact that you are close to the beautiful and sugar-sweet town of Gränna, Brahehus and the ferry to Visingsö.
