Halland's water worlds

Halmstad and Varberg are known for their beaches and summer adventures. Martin brings his daughter Tindra to experience Halland: Stand up Pladdleboard (SUP) in Fylleån, Bockstensmossen Bog (site where the Bocksten Man was discovered) and Varberg Fortress. In this episode, bread fritters are made.

Fun on a SUP on Fylleån

On a Stand Up Paddleboard, or SUP as it’s also known, you can experience nature close to the water and train at the same time. Daily SUP tours are arranged on Fylleån in the summer season. It is easy to learn and a fun activity and day trip.

Windsurfing at Apelviken Beach

As a guest at Apelviken.se you can take a free beginners’ course in windsurfing. The fact that the well-known bay in Varberg happens to be one of Northern Europe’s best beaches for the purpose is no disadvantage. The course takes a couple of hours and, if you listen carefully to the instructors, you can increase your chances of going out on your own at the end of day.

Bockstensmossen Bog and Varberg Fortress

Half an hour east of Varberg you will find the place where Varberg’s most famous person, the Bocksten Man, was discovered. Today, he is on display at Varberg Fortress, a nice day trip on any day and a good suggestion when it’s raining. Here, you can learn more about the time when he lived, as well as the history of Varberg, Monark cycles and much more.
