City pulse and countryside in the Netherlands

Gone Camping takes the ferry to Holland and the Netherlands to try different types of camping: city camping in Amsterdam and glamping at a glamping campsite for all the family in Stolkse Weide. In this episode we also visit a cheese shop in Gouda and make a study visit to a windmill in Kinderdijk.

Amsterdam – the city with village charm

Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most visited and popular cities. And that’s not surprising. There are tulips, the Van Gogh Museum and much, much more. When we are here, we take a saloon boat on one of the long canals and enjoy the city from the water.

Windmills in Kinderdijk

If you close your eyes and think of Holland, it’s not impossible that you picture a windmill. But if you want to visit one for real and see how it works, we suggest a visit to the Dutch Kinderdijk. There are many windmills turning here. We visit one of them.

A visit to a cheese shop in Gouda

We visit Gouda and one of the town’s many cheese shops. We learn more about the production, storage and what gives it its special taste.

Our campsite accommodation in Holland

Camping Zeeburg Amsterdam
Camping Zeeburg Amsterdam

Camping Zeeburg Amsterdam is located just 15 minutes by cycle from the city centre and offers varied accommodation and a lovely atmosphere. Amsterdam’s inhabitants are not allowed to stay here, and due to the size of the pitches you are advised not to stay here with vehicle combinations of more than 7 metres.

Stolkse Weide Holland Nederland
Stolkse Weide

At Stolkse Weide, a slightly unusual glamping campsite, you stay on a farm in a luxury tent. If you want to, you and the family can take part in everything from feeding the animals to making ice cream.
