Fly-fishing or shooting the rapids in Blekinge
We head for one of Blekinge’s best salmon rivers, Mörrumsån, and a fishing guide teaches us the basics of fly-fishing. Then we make our way to Kolleviks Camping outside Karlshamn to gather our strength for the next challenge: shooting the rapids.

Salmon fishing with a fly in Mörrumsån
Mörrumsån is one of Sweden’s best-known salmon rivers and flows through Småland and Blekinge. Here it’s angling season between April and September. We meet the guide Mattias Holmquist who teaches us the basics, but to create muscle memories of the movements requires practice, practice and more practice.

Shooting the rapids in a kayak
In the spring and autumn, River Mörrumsån in Blekinge offers challenging rapids, even for those who are experienced. But we visit the watercourse in the height of summer and then it is quieter and perfect for an introductory course. After a short theory course, it’s time to put our skills to the test.

Our accommodation in Blekinge

Kolleviks Camping and Stugby
We use Kolleviks Camping and holiday village as a base when we explore the landscape that has been described as Sweden’s garden, namely Blekinge. This three-star leafy campsite is located just a few kilometres from the centre of Karlshamn, and the hilly environment here makes the campsite feel smaller than it actually is. Here you are always close to refreshing swimming and nice views of Blekinge’s archipelago.
