Norrbotten – Pite Havsbad and Boden Fortress
With Pite Havsbad as a base, we explore the scenic Norrbotten with cool cowboy riding through Norrland’s wilderness, at a full gallop through shallow brooks, and quiet evenings by the campfire. We then make our way to Boden Fortress, which was once Sweden’s most secret place.

Cowboy riding in the wilderness
Come on a four-footed adventure in the wilderness. Western riding, as it’s also known, is a widespread form of riding for work. That is to say, you should be able to work from horseback. It doesn’t take long to learn the basics, so the adventure begins quickly. Udda Äventyr, which arranges the Western riding, is one hour north-west of Pite Havsbad

Military history at Boden Fortress
Boden Fortress is one of the world’s ten biggest military building projects. It is not used for its original purpose anymore, and today you can book a guided tour. The fortress was a prohibited area until 1998. We are shown around all the parts of the fortress, Rödbergsfortet.

Pite Havsbad
Pite Havsbad is one of Sweden’s biggest resorts and offers much more that pitches and cottages. There is also a hotel and, above all, lots to do: a water park, bowling alley, entertainment and – of course – the seaside resort.
