Norwegian delights
In this episode we visit Stryn, Geirangerfjorden Fjord and Besseggen. We meet Fred Syversen and enjoy the slopes at the summer ski resort Stryn. Then we continue to Geiranger Fjord and use Grande Hytteutleige og Camping as our base camp when we hike along one of Norway’s most visited tourist destinations. In Besseggen we go on a mountain hike.

Summer skiing in Norwegian Stryn
If you want to retain your skiing fitness in the summer, then Stryn is the perfect place to go. Here the slopes are open from mid-May to mid-July with freeskiing of world class – at least in summer.

The striking beauty of Geirangerfjorden
The World Heritage Site West Norwegian Fjords – Geirangerfjorden is one of Norway’s most visited tourist destinations, and if you haven’t been here yet, you should plan to go. We take a boat trip on the fjord and then hop off to walk towards the old mountain farm Skageflå, 250 metres above the fjord.

Mountain hike on Besseggen
It’s not strange that hiking is part of the Norwegian people’s soul when there are places like Besseggen. The 1743 metre high peak usually offers views over two different-coloured lakes, but on our visit, a blanket of snow covers one of them, so we have to settle for the spectacular views.

Folven Camping
Folven is a small campsite right by the foot of the mountain in Stryn. From here it is approximately half an hour to the lift, and it’s clear among the other guests that the focus is on the outdoors and activities.

Grande Hytteutleige and Camping
Grande Hytteutleige and Camping is conveniently located if you want to experience Geirangerfjorden Fjord. Here you have ringside seats to watch the still show that has run for millions of years – the surroundings. At Grande Hytteutleige og Camping you cannot book a place, but call beforehand to find out if there is space for you.
