A trip to Treriksröset

We have passed the Arctic Circle and continue north for quite a while. We are going to Treriksröset! Along the way, we stop in Jukkasjärvi and look at the state of Icehotel and try sculpting ice. Can you guess what it is supposed to be?

Ishotellet på sommaren

Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi – in the summer

Icehotel is one of Sweden’s best-known tourist destinations abroad, but few know that the hotel has a little sister in the summer. Here you can stay the night in one of the suites, drink from a glass made completely of ice or – if you want – try ice sculpting.

Treriksröset

Treriksröset there and back

The point where Sweden, Finland and Norway meet is marked with a lump of yellow cement on a cairn. It may not look much, but the feeling of being in three countries at once is great and, for many, a lifelong dream. But, as in so many cases when you are out travelling, the journey in itself is part of the destination. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful and Lapland’s nature leaves no one unmoved.

Karesuando Camping
Karesuando Camping

Sweden’s northernmost campsite, Karesuando Camping, has 12 pitches with electricity and 12 cottages. In other words, it isn’t huge, but the environments and experience will leave great impressions on your memory.
