Tuscany for the taste buds
Tuscany is known for many things, but perhaps more than anything for its wine and food. When we visit the culinary Italian province, we take the temperature on just that.

Montalcino’s atmosphere and delicious flavours
Montalcino is a medieval town in the south of Tuscany. Here, on the top of a mountain, there is, among other things, a fort housing a wine shop. The sommelier at Enoteca La Fotezza di Maontalcino guides us through their generous selection.

Monastery in Sant’ Antimo
Entering a monastery is not an everyday occurrence for secularised Swedes, but we think it is an excellent idea here, in Tuscany’s Sant’ Antimo. The monastery is believed to have been built sometime in the 12th century, and is still active today. The monks pray several times a day in the form of a capella chanting – it is balm for the soul, whether you are a believer or not.

The vineyard run entirely by women
Visiting a vineyard is a good way to learn more about wine and the process of producing the delightful drink. We visit the winery and meet Donatella, founder of Cinelli Colombini – a vineyard run entirely by women.

Taste sensation at the Il Leccio restaurant
Italy is packed with genuine restaurants, which could make it hard to choose. That’s why we want to recommend Il Leccio in Sant'Angelo In Colle Montalcino. They serve traditional, handmade Italian cuisine at its best. Feel free to ask the waiter which wine to pair with your food.

Our accommodation in Tuscany

Camping La Soline
In Tuscany there are close to a hundred campsites. We have chosen to check into Le Soline. Here – in addition to enjoying the beautiful and picturesque surroundings – you can also enjoy a swimming pool, among other things.
