Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a municipality north of Avignon in south-eastern France. But it is probably better known for its wine district of the same name. Here the Grenache grape reigns, though in a Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine, 18 grapes are permitted – nine black, nine white. Once here, visit ‘Brangelina’s’ favourite wine producer, Famille Perrin, to taste the wine and go on a guided tour.
